I’ve been designing for publication for my entire professional career: magazines, books, brochures, style guides, sales collateral, you name it. In that time I’ve project-managed and account-managed publication tasks, sweated through press checks and done things with copy that are probably illegal in seventeen states. So I’m pretty good at this. Selected samples are below.

The Weapon of Young Gods
Paperback cover design and 200+ page layout for my own self-published novel, completed in July 2012. For better and worse, it lives on Amazon here.

VSI Research Reports
VSI was an international nonprofit dedicated to improving women’s health in developing countries. They ended their mission successfully in 2015, but as account manager and lead designer I helped develop their brand for four years through consecutive campaigns both online and in print. My favorite VSI projects were their research publications: the 2009-2010 and 2011-2012 annual reports and the 2013 “Compendium of Operations Research” a report detailing the distribution of the life-saving drug misoprostol. Created for BBM&D, 2009-2013.

Gifted Education Communicator
Design & project management of a quarterly research journal specializing in the field of gifted education, published by the California Association for the Gifted. I was part of this project for 7 years (2005-2012) while at BBM&D, going from designing a few articles in 2005 to managing the project outright by 2007, including overseeing the transition from print to digital in 2010. Examples here include pieces nominated for the Western Publications Association “Maggie” awards in 2008. This publication was my first client as a project manager and I worked closely with two consecutive editors-in-chief for the duration.

3rdNut Manifesto
Design for an emerging lifestyle and community brand. The 3rdNut Manifesto outlines the proofs by which this community of high achievers marks their personal progress and growth. Created for Oniracom, September 2016.
