New release alert! Coming later this fall, a quickie compilation album from yours truly. “Solipsisms 1999-2024” covers 25 years’ worth of my bass-heavy solo stuff, from 4-track demos to book soundtracks to mandocello-mania. Many songs appear in alternate versions, and one is a new recording of an old tune.
“Solo” is of course a relative term, since many of these tracks include crucial instrumental and (rare but occasional) compositional contributions from my erstwhile Mojo Wire/Low Tide/Honey White bandmates. Four of the sixteen tracks are instrumentals, but the lyrics and vocals on the other twelve are all by me. Even the minimalist album art is a collaboration with artist Jennie Jacobs, whose doodly Keir-caricature appears on the cover.
It may not be the last thing I’ll ever release, but it might be the last release for a while (coming after two EPs from earlier this decade), or at least unless and until the muse demands otherwise. Anyway, “Solipsisms” will go up on Bandcamp November 1st (with four bonus demos from the archive), and will show up a bit later in places like Spotify and Apple Music, if that’s more your jam.
