My 2016 social media “50+2” project wrapped up this weekend, and y’all better believe I’ll be milking it for all it’s worth. Might with some basic wall art print-on-demand goodies, but individual state prints of the best ones could be coming in 2017. Stay tuned.

Original project description:

As a professional designer, local AIGA chapter president, and map lover I combined my art and design skills with my love of maps to create and release something positive about our country during a contentious and bizarre election year. I believe it’s important to acknowledge and advocate for the value of art and design when support for it in public schools is always in peril. I also believe that geographic knowledge must be part of everyday education. This project, tagged #50_plus_2, involved creating and posting mixed-media art pieces using vector maps and leftover paper stock samples, done every week of 2016 for each U.S. state (and then some).
